The mission of the South Omaha Community Care Council (SOCCC) is to provide a strategic infrastructure to enhance collaboration, communication, leadership, and services for the empowerment and well-being of the community.
Description of Programs and Services
The South Omaha Community Care Council (SOCCC) has active partnerships and networking relationships with over 95 human service organizations, medical facilities, neighborhood associations and private businesses. Our primary focus is on networking events that are held every two months and are attended by as many as 150 citizens, nonprofit employees, and company representatives. These meetings are key resources for many community members for disseminating information and learning about upcoming educational events and programs.
Recently celebrating our tenth anniversary, the SOCCC outreaches further into the community through specific committees that focus on health, youth, elderly, housing, and capacity. These committees are active in creating collaborative projects to further the mission of SOCCC. Some examples include health fairs, youth/parent education events, translation services, and leadership conferences.
